Biography

STACY CHIAVARO

Principal Designer

Art and design have played a role in Stacy's life from a very young age.  As a young girl growing up in the Midwest, she recalls countless memories of walking to art class with one mission in mind:  I’m going to create something beautiful today.

After completing her Art degree at the University of Toledo, where her Architecture and Art History classes developed her love of built spaces, she spent four years in advertising before realizing that passion was lacking from her corporate career.  She enrolled in the UCLA Interior Design program and in 2004 began working at the nationally acclaimed firm Joe Nye Inc. It was there she learned the fundamentals of classical design while decorating gracious traditional homes in Los Angeles, New York City, Beaver Creek, and Vail.  After years of designing classical & traditional homes, she set out to take on the contemporary world while working with at Magni Design Inc. in 2007.  She spent four years as a Senior Designer working on homes in Brentwood, Beverly Park, Newport Coast, and Moscow.

Chiavaro Design was formed in 2011 and is located in the historic Helms Bakery building in Culver City. The firm's work is a compilation of both contemporary and traditional aesthetics.  They've worked on numerous construction and furnishing projects in Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades, San Marino, Dana Point, Palo Alto, Denver, and Newport Coast. In 2015 the business expanded to include Custom Cabinetry directed by, Sandro Chiavaro, who has over twenty-five years of cabinet building experience.  He is a craftsman at heart having been raised and professionally trained in Switzerland.  He follows in the steps of his father who spent his career restoring antique furniture.

In 2023 Chiavaro Design finished working on a beautifully appointed home in an Charlottesville, Virginia and are continuing work on a residential project near the snow capped mountains of Denver, a modern french-inspired home in Nevada, and an extensive remodel of a Tuscan Spanish home in the hills of Santa Ana, and a historic Casita in Palo Alto.

In their free time, Sandro and Stacy enjoy cooking at home with their fourteen-year old daughter Eliza and exploring the city and its cultural treasures.
